OishiiBox September 2014 Review

The Box: A collection of snacks, candies, and everything kawaii from Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and beyond!

The cost: $12 a month + free shipping.  A portion of each purchase will be donated to UNICEF

Check it out here (Note: The October box is not available yet, but check back soon because boxes sell out fast!)

I was soooooo excited about my first OishiiBox.  I love snacks, and I love anything Japanese, so what could be better?  OishiiBox came very neatly packaged (seriously, all I did for the picture was open up the tissue paper.  It came like that) and had a typed insert naming each snack and listing the ingredients, which is super helpful.

The first thing both Mr. GGG and I noticed was the set of chopsticks.  They are well made and the flower detail is beautiful!

Koala's March Strawberry - You have no idea how excited I was to see these in the box.  Seriously, these things are the best cookies known to man.

Hello Panda Vanilla - In my opinion, Hello Panda is basically a lesser version of Koala's March, but they're still cookies and will get eaten.

Now comes new territory (and and the use of the printed list).  Trying all these new kinds of snacks is so exciting (and delicious)!

Milkita Assorted Milk Lollipop Candy - mine was pink and white and tasted EXACTLY like strawberry milk.  It was soooo good, I could eat a whole bag of those.

Unican Milkita Milk Candy - This one was similar to the milk lollipop, but was chewy and plain milk flavor.  Still delicious.

Kasugai Flower's Kiss Candy - This was a pink colored hard candy.  I'm not sure if it was actually flower flavored, but it was sweet and a little tart and very good.

Hi-Chu - This is a sleeve of individually wrapped chewy strawberry candy.  The flavor is good, and the texture is very unique.  It's very chewy, almost like gum, and it doesn't stick to your teeth at all.  Yummy!

Sonomama Cola Fusen Gum - There are 3 pieces of cola flavored gum in this package and the point is to split it with 2 of your friends, and one of you will get a sour one while the other two get delicious cola.  At first, I didn't understand the concept, and the first one I ate was the sour one and I was like "Since when is cola sour?"  But then I figured it out and I have to say I enjoyed all three, sour or not.  Unfortunately, the flavor doesn't last very long.

Pretz Roast - Oh Pretz Roast, the best snack to come into my life.  I had never heard of before this, but it's essentially Pocky without the flavored coating.  And let me tell you, it is AMAZING.  It has the crispy biscuit texture of Pocky, and is slightly sweet and buttery.  I could eat these forever.

Grape Gummy Candy - These are gumdrop shaped gummies that have a texture similar to fruit snacks, but much much more flavor.  They were very grape-y and yummy.

All in all I'm super impressed with my first OishiiBox.  For only $12 I feel like I got a solid amount of snacks and a good variety as well.  I can;t wait for next month's box!

This Month's theme was picnic, and again a printout detailing the items was included

Cloud and Tifa LOVE getting their KitNipBox every month.  I hope they're not getting too spoiled!

The first thing out of the box was this awesome toy from patchwork pet.  This is basically the ultimate cat toy; crinkly noise, stretchy arms, bells, and CATNIP.  the prefect combination for hours of adorable fun.

Next up are a couple of "food" items: a baguette and a piece of candy, both stuffed with catnip.  Cloud and Tifa love the baguette, which is similar to the catnip tacos from a previous month, but whatever strain of catnip used in the piece of candy is a little too strong for them.  Hopefully they'll warm up to it eventually.

Next out of the box was a familiar sight; a crocheted catnip toy; this month in the fall appropriate shape of an apple.  I'm such a huge fan of these toys; they're so well made and super cute, you could never get something like this from a regular pet store.  Plus the yarn makes it safe no matter how much you cat rips it up!

This month's (actual) food item is a package of cat sprinkles from Sweet Pea Kitchens.  These can be used as a topping for your cat's food or as a stand alone treat.  I haven't tried these yet, but hopefully the cats will like these better than last month's food sample.

Next is a stuffed ball that has both plush and crinkle aspects to it.  While it's adorable and fun for all, I'm pretty sure it's currently underneath the couch, where all small circular shaped toys go to die. (Luckily the apple is too big to sneak its way under the couch)

Last out of the box is a a small container of pill paste and cat grass seeds (not pictured).  The paste will come in handy then next time either of the cats needs to take medicine, and I'm really excited to try growing my own cat grass!

Just like the last two months, KitNipBox has done an amazing job of supplying high quality and entertaining cat products.

Also, this month KitNipBox is having a cat photo contest!  One of the prize packages is worth over $500!  If you have a minute, please take the time to vote for Tifa and Cloud!
