Boxycharm - June 2014 Review

Hey Reader!

Today I have a brand new subscription box: Boxycharm.  I had never heard of Boxycharm until a couple of weeks ago, and after reading a couple of reviews, I knew I had to get it.  Luckily for me, they still had the June box in stock even though it was toward the end of the month.  Yay!  Boxycharm is only $21 a month for full and luxury size samples valued at upwards of $70.  Boxycharm uses both drugstore brands higher end beauty products, and based on the June box, it's a GREAT deal!  You can subscribe here and use my referral code SkxibFhIcW9ieWNqSmthV1dyeS9WK2c1VW1HNnlKQnlhRmMxRFdINHpHbz0= (wow that's a long one) to help me out! Now, on to the review:

My Boxycharm came packaged in a cute branded box with White and gold shredded paper inside.  I especially love the "Hello Charmer" text on the side of the box.

Like all good subscription boxes, Boxycharm includes a card detailing each item as well as pricing them.  Also included in this month's box was a coupon for the Revlon bold lacquer mascara, which I will be passing on to a friend.

First up is my favorite product from the box: the Tarte cheek stain in Blushing Bride.  I've been meaning to try this, but $30 for a blush without trying it first is a little much for me.  Now I have this one, and I LOVE it.

The color is great on my pale complexion, but I think it's neutral enough for many skin tones.  It's also super easy to apply; I just dabbed it straight from the container onto my cheeks, and blended slightly.  2 seconds and I was done.  Awesome!

Next up is the eye dream hyperlight and hyperliner, which is a under eye highlighter and a royal blue eyeliner, both from Tara Tarantino. I love love love the packaging from this brand.  Both have chrome elements and feel really well made.

I swiped the hyperlight under my eyes and browbone and then blended it in with my finger.  It blended easily and covered my dark circles well (maybe I should try getting some more sleep), and brightened my browbone.  Next I used the liner, which is a gorgeous shade of blue, not too bight, but not as dark as your usual black liner.  I think its a great option for a softer summer shade.  Then I smudged it a little bit, which softened it even more.

Then I finished with the Revlon mascara, which went on extremely well for a drugstore brand.  It applied smoothly without clumping, and really lengthened my lashes.  I usually stick with higher end mascaras to avoid clumping and hassle, but the Revlon bold lacquer gets a thumbs up from me.

I really liked that all the makeup products in the box worked together to create a complete look, and Mr. GGG approved as well.

Rounding out the box is a nail polish duo from Strange Beautiful in You Gold Girl and Something Blue.  Something Blue is a light blue cream with a very subtle shimmer and You Gold Girl is a soft golden metallic that really glows depending on the lighting.  Blue went on a little easier, as Gold tended to show brushstrokes, but a topcoat evened them out and Gold ended up being my favorite of the two.

Overall, I was really impressed with my first Boxycharm.  If the boxes continue to have great full sized products like this,  Boxycharm could easily become my favorite subscription box.

As always, thanks for reading and stay gorgeous!

XOXO
Gina
