Birchbox - July 2014 Review

It's been a while since I posted, but July's boxes have starting arriving and I'm excited to share them with you!  This month Birchbox partnered with Women's Health to help "power up" your day.  Also included was a bonus offer from Marcelle and a 1 year subscription to Women's Health Magazine.

As always, my box was packaged very nicely and included a card detailing the samples.

First up is Marcelle 8 in 1 power serum and 100% Pure gingerade shower gel.  Both samples were on the small size, which was disappointing.

I liked how smooth and soft the power serum made my skin feel, but I can't bring myself to spend $34 for a 1oz tube of the stuff.  I also really liked the shower gel, which is good because its only $15 for a 13oz bottle.

Next is Harvey Prince Hello body cream and Whish shave cream in Acai Grapefruit.

These two samples were a much better size.  Now, in a previous box I received the Harvey Prince Hello perfume and did not like it.  The body cream, however, has a lighter smell that i liked better.  It's also very moisturizing.  I was excited to try the Whish shave cream because I've heard great things about it and i LOVE the smell of grapefruit.  The shave cream performed great; I had a smooth easy shave with no bumps, but I really didn't like the smell.  It almost smelled...rotten?  I'd definitely try it in a different scent.

Finally, I have my FAVOIRTE product from this month's box: The Cynthia Rowley creamy lip stain in Valentine.

This product is perfection.  I usually don't like lip stains in crayon or marker form because they dry out my already dry lips, and the color just settles into the cracks and looks ridiculous.  The creamy lip stain, however, goes on like a gloss and once the product soaks in, you're left with moisturized, stained lips with a slightly dewy finish.  Love.  I was worried that Valentine (described as a hot pink) would be too much for my pale complexion, but it was more of a bright pinkish red that would probably look good on anyone.  I will be buying this in all shades once I've used up my sample.

All in all I was very happy with this month's box, and for only $10 i think it's a steal!  You can subscribe here to get your own goodies every month.
